Quarter 1

  • Juries - DONE
  • Program notes - DONE

Quarter 2

  • Concert Critique - instructions were sent via email.
    • Date/concert selection is due on December 1. Speak to me to discuss your selection.
    • Essay is due January 8 at 7:30 am to Turnitin.com.
  • Program notes - instructions will be sent by Thanksgiving.
    • Format will be similar to Q1.
    • Essay is due January 15 at 7:30 am to Turnitin.com.

Quarter 3

  • Research paper - turn in all portions to Turnitin.com
    • Topic and 5 sources due Monday, February 8 at 7:30 am (10 points)
    • Outline of the paper due Monday, March 15 at 7:30 am (25 points)
    • Final version of paper (5-7 pages, excluding bibliography) due Monday, March 22 at 7:30 am (100 points)
  • Program notes - turn in all portions to Turnitin.com
    • Repertoire for Awards Concert are assigned as follows:
      • String Orchestra: Vivaldi - Concerto in B minor for Violins and Telemann - Concerto for Viola Concerto in G Major
      • Wind Symphony: Robert Jager: Third Suite
    • Essay is due Wednesday, March 31 at 7:30 am (40 points)

Quarter 4

  • Recital
    • Plan your 3-5 minute recital performance piece to reflect the things you learned from your Q1 jury performance. You will need to consider (or possibly reconsider) your accompanist and start to make arrangements with them as soon as possible.
    • Your repertoire/accompanist information is due by Monday, March 8 at 3:00 pm. Bring me the solo and piano accompaniment for me to review with you. The specifics of your accompanists is also due at this time. This is not a Turnitin.com assignment; come speak to me to discuss this important information and receive credit for the assignment (10 points). I strongly urge you to complete your selection before March 8!
